| To carry out the welfare policies of caring for the children and the elderly people, Kinmen county government has established “Kinmen Paishou Elderly Home” and “Kinmen Children’s Home” respectively in 1965 and 1967, aimed to provide care to the helpless elders living alone in poor conditions and to provide nourishment and education to the homeless children in the region. On Feb 16 1993, due to government’s downsizing policy, the two homes were merged as ordered by the Executive Yuan, and “Kinmen County Datong Homes” with a section for elderly care and a section for children’s care was formally established to take place on Apr 1st the same year. On Feb 21 2004, an “administration section” was added to the organizational charter with the purpose of conducting the administrative duties necessary for the running of a sound organization. |
